Actress Carrie Murray’s films are a Christmas lover’s delight. Filled with twinkling lights, festive carols, and happy endings, they’re the perfect escape from reality. For her and the audience. Then Tinseltown calls.
Braxton Timothy is Hollywood’s biggest action star. Handsome and talented but decidedly on the naughty list, no one can fathom his sudden desire to produce a feel-good Christmas movie—least of all, his no-name co-star.
Alternating between scenes reminiscent of everyone’s favorite made-for-TV movies and unexpected, off-screen chemistry, Gingerbread Falls has surprises in store this holiday season. The question is, will there be enough Christmas magic to convince two imperfect people that they’re perfect for each other?
I’m seeing a lot of reviews saying this book is like stepping into a Hallmark movie, and I’d argue it’s more like one of those Lifetime Christmas movies. The storyline was a bit darker/angsty than I like in my Christmas romances – but then, I like my Christmas romances to be all sugar floss and candy canes. CWs for history of trauma and abuse, PTSD. I actually was way more drawn to the movie scenes and that plotline than the main one, haha.
I came fro the Christmas moments, of which there are plenty, and stayed more despite some of the main storyline plot points than because of them. Still, this is a great read that really puts you in that Christmas mood. It make me want to start watching holiday movies right now! I’d really like to read the book that’s just Noelle and Carson’s story. 😉
