Summary

Madoka is obsessed with shojo manga—specifically manga that features younger, innocent guys who fall for their Sempai. So she should be thrilled when a gorgeous kohai comes to work at her father’s restaurant…except he’s rude and standoffish, and wants nothing to do with her. But when she protects him from some extra-pushy fans, he finds that maybe he’s found someone letting his walls down for…!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I adored this comic!! I immediately went and bought volume 2, and I really can’t think of a higher recommendation than that, haha. Shikura-kun is very attractive and “cool” looking, and is used to girls being kind of gross and stalker-y, so from the jump he’s rather rude to Madoka when he thinks she’s putting the moves on him. But cool guys are not Madoka’s type at all and she quickly puts him in his place – only to find out that behind this cool facade is the sort of clueless puppy-dog type boy that is actually her type. Oh no!

Their chemistry is just SO great. I love the moments he acts very gruff and turns away, but she can see his ears are blushing. AHHH, so cute! I also really love the times where Madoka has to squash down the little heart bubbles that try to form when he does something especially clueless, like wandering away and getting lost like some Kindergarten kid. The fierce way they both try to protect each other, even when neither of them really likes the other much, is just so pure-hearted. I am in absolute love with the both of them and can’t wait to see what develops in volume 2!

A digital ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley for review. All opinions are unbiased and my own.
