Summary

Leviathan Fitness is known for monsters, muscles, and wolven who rescue damsels in distress.

After a wedding cake catastrophe, local decorator Tegan finds herself being helped by a solid wall of fur and fangs named Atlas. She’s never met anyone like him and finds herself enamored by his wolfish charm. After their sweet encounter, Atlas invites her to his gym anytime she needs his cake lifting services.

Tegan decides that instead- she wants to lift the cakes herself. She signs up for a membership with Leviathan Fitness, determined to build her strength.

Primal desires emerge as Atlas and Tegan test just how much their new love can lift— and if there are any limits to what monsters and humans can do.

Muscles & Monsters is book one in the Leviathan Fitness series. Each book will center around the gym and feature a different monster pairing.

Review

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I read this book as sort of a lark because I liked the cover and it’s nearly Halloween so I figured hey, may as well read a monster romance! I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did.

This series has a cute premise – in a contemporary setting, monsters have integrated with humans, living side by side together in this small town. Atlas runs a gym (the titular Leviathan Fitness) that mostly caters to monsters, but when Tegan decides to take him up on his offer to join she is more than welcome, despite being human.

I LOVE that Tegan is a plus-sized woman, and despite her joining Atlas’ gym they NEVER ONCE talk about her losing weight. She wants to get stronger so she can lift the heavy wedding cakes herself, so they focus on building strength and no one ever says anything about her needing to lose weight. We stan a plus-size queen!

This book is total fluffy smut (smutty fluff?) and was a fun, fast, delicious read (much like one of Tegan’s cupcakes). At times it gets a bit cheesey, but I didn’t even care because I was too busy grinning over things like Atlas’ tail wagging, haha.

This is the first book in the Leviathan Fitness series and can be read as a standalone, but you’re going to want to tune back in for book two, Tentacles & Triathlons, which is about Tegan’s brother Reece!
