Dimi Weston has always loved the theater—just not as much as loves managing things. His job at Joy Universe lets him manage to his heart’s content, and he fills his free time with community theater. Now, though, he’s being offered a promotion to his dream job: managing Joy Universe’s brand-new theater production company. JU really does make dreams come true—or so he thinks until he meets the ex-Broadway director he’ll have to work with.

Jason Philips is shocked to discover the hot younger guy he was trying to impress at a community theater is going to be managing the production company that just hired him. Scarred by the bad breakup of a long-term relationship, Jase is already nervous about getting back into dating… and now he’s accidentally offended the first guy he tried to flirt with and now has to work with.

As Dimi and Jason get stuck into the craziness of the theater, they have to contend with family, exes, and the nosiness of their colleagues, but nothing will stop them from making this venture a success.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I loved Dimi in the first book in this series (I’ve Got This), so I was super excited to see this second book is about him!! And okay, I’m not a big May/December or age gap romance person, so the very large age gap between Dimi and Jason did weird me out a little, but I know a lot of people are into that. So if age gap is your trope, here’s a great book for you!

Once again, I was not a fan of the characters directly addressing the reader. It’s just not a writing style I vibe with, and thankfully Louisa Masters doesn’t seem to do it in any of the other series I’ve read by her so far. It honestly annoyed me enough to knock a star off my rating.

Much like the first book in the series, there’s some tension at the beginning of Jason and Dimi’s relationship, but once they finally hook up most of the drama is external pressure on them while they just go about their cozy, merry way. They’re so great together, and I love the way they soothe each others’ insecurities. Awww, I just wanna HUG THEM.

I love the community at Joy Universe. It was so fun to see Derek and Trav doing well, and to get little glimpses of Grant, who is the main character for book three. Much like the first book in the series, this is a relatively low angsty, sweet and flirty quick read. Also, super hot. *fans self* whew!

This is the second book in the Joy Universe series. While it could technically be read as a stand-alone, you’ll miss all the great background for Dimi in the first book, I’ve Got This. Plus, this one has definite spoilers for book one as well. I can’t wait for book three, In Your Hands, which is Grant’s book!!
